Six colourists. Six perspectives. One Colour Collective.
The Stone Dogs colour offering expands to six colourists, each with their own way of seeing an image.
Colour has never been about following a formula.
The right grade can completely change how a film feels. It can give a scene its sense of place, bring out an emotion that was already there, or take an image somewhere the audience never expected it to go. Sometimes the difference is subtle. Sometimes it changes everything.
That’s why we’ve expanded the Stone Dogs colour offering to six colourists, bringing together different perspectives, approaches and strengths under one roof.
The Stone Dogs Colour Collective is built around a simple idea: there’s no single way to approach a grade. Different projects call for different eyes, and having the right person behind the image can make all the difference.
Finding the right eye
At Stone Dogs, colour has always been about more than technical finishing. It’s about judgement, taste and knowing when to push an image further, and when to leave it alone.
Our Colour Collective brings together six colourists with their own ways of seeing and shaping an image. Some bring decades of experience across commercials, film and television. Others are developing fresh approaches and exploring new ways to work with tone, texture, light and atmosphere.
Together, they give directors, agencies and production companies a broader creative choice when it comes to finding the right fit for any project.
Ellen Yu
Colour can create a sense of place as much as a sense of mood.
With a background in fine art, Ellen Yu brings a sensitivity to tone, texture and atmosphere that gives her work a distinctive visual depth.
Her experience spans commercials, film, animation and documentary, with recent work including Dior’s Marie Curie campaign. In 2026, she was recognised by the Creative Circle as both New Raw Talent and Most Promising Colourist.
Ellen combines a fine-art sensibility with an enthusiasm for exploring new ways to shape an image.
Pete Oppersdorff
12 years of experience, and a breadth of work that keeps the process grounded.
Pete Oppersdorff is an award-winning Senior Colourist whose career has included time at MPC, The Mill and Absolute.
In that time he has worked across campaigns for brands including Nike, Apple, Audi, Gucci, Coca-Cola and Google. That breadth of experience gives Pete a strong instinct for what an image needs, whether that means making a bold statement or knowing when less is more.
His approach is grounded in the craft, with an emphasis on finding the details that bring the whole picture together.
Marty McMullan
You can't really talk about colour without talking about light.
With more than 15 years in the suite, Marty has worked across campaigns for Apple, Nike, Audi and Gucci, as well as music projects including Raye.
His approach starts with the relationship between light, shape and colour, and how those elements guide the way we experience an image. From subtle shifts in contrast and tone to more transformative looks, Marty uses that foundation to give an image its character without losing sight of the original photography.
Sometimes everything comes back to the light.
Mark Meadows
Experience, instinct and an eye for what makes an image work.
Mark Meadows has been part of the Stone Dogs colour offering for some time, bringing extensive experience across commercial work for brands including L’Oréal, Toyota, Apple, Adidas and Virgin, alongside music projects for artists including Dua Lipa and Stormzy.
His approach is about shaping an image with purpose: understanding what makes a frame work, then using colour to strengthen its identity and impact.
Sometimes it comes down to finding the right eye.
Holly Greig
A fresh perspective on creating distinctive looks and visual worlds.
Holly Greig brings a thoughtful and contemporary approach to colour, with work spanning Nike, E4, Virgin Atlantic and BBC Three's Ellie & Natasia.
Her work is often about finding the character within an image and building a look that feels distinctive without overwhelming the story.
Whether it’s a bold visual world or something more understated, Holly brings a considered approach to every grade.
Duncan Russell
Experience gives you judgement. Curiosity keeps it moving.
With 30 years in the industry, Duncan Russell brings a wealth of experience across commercials and long-form work. His credits include Netflix, Bentley, BBC and Samsung, as well as the RTS-nominated drama The Jetty.
That experience brings perspective, but Duncan’s approach is far from standing still. He continues to explore new techniques and new ways of working with an image.
Sometimes the best way forward is to keep exploring.
One collective. Six different perspectives.
Bringing these six colourists together gives Stone Dogs a broader palette to draw from. Not a single house style, but a choice of different perspectives and approaches depending on what each project needs.
That might mean a highly crafted commercial grade, a subtle treatment that lets the cinematography do the talking, or something more experimental that pushes the image somewhere new.
And while every colourist brings their own experience and sensibility, the Colour Collective sits within the wider Stone Dogs offering. That means colour can connect naturally with VFX, finishing, editorial and the rest of the post-production process, with one team taking care of the detail from picture through to delivery.
The result is more choice without adding complexity.
Because ultimately, the technology is only part of the process. The important bit is having the right person looking at the image.
