Our role on this project was both technically challenging and creatively rewarding. At the outset, we were responsible for preparing the processed volumetric capture data so that the team at Prodigious could build on it and apply the complex VFX we were all aiming to showcase. This meant developing a custom workflow to extract mattes from the unique UVs generated during the volumetric capture process. Rather than taking the usual AR/VR route for this kind of footage, we had to pioneer a new 2D pipeline—an ambitious task that required extensive problem-solving and technical development from our team.
Once the final edit—including camera moves, CG, VFX, and grade—had been completed, the footage came back to us for finishing. Working closely with the creative lead, we enhanced the visuals further with custom-built lens flares, glow and particle effects, and additional refinements to help elevate the already outstanding work from Prodigious. We paid close attention to details like finessing Tino's edges, adding realistic film grain, and integrating subtle light bleeds—those small touches that make a big difference. We spent a long time perfecting the glow around lights and making sure the flares felt just right. Collaborations like this, where craft and care are shared values, are always a real pleasure for us.
